INJECTABLE FAQs

MAVERICK AESTHETICS

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

several days prior to your appointment, avoid blood thinning agents such as NSAIDS (Ibuprofen/Motrin, Advin), aspirin, herbal supplements (i.e. turmeric, vit D, E etc), excessive caffeine and alcohol.  All of these products thin the blood and increase chances of bruising.  Arnica Montana, a homeopathic supplement, can be taken a few days prior to your appointment as well as afterwards to minimize bruising and swelling.   If you have a history of oral cold sores, please begin taking your antiviral 3 days prior to your appointment and continue for a total of 7 days to reduce the risk of a breakout and scarring.

Avoid dental work, including cleanings, for 2 weeks before and after your appointment to prevent the spread of infection causing bacteria.  ‘

Please present to your appointment with a clean face free of makeup.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

The face is highly vascular and therefore bruising and swelling is expected and normal.  We go above and beyond to reduce any downtime post-procedure but please be mindful that these are medical procedures and results take at least 2 weeks to fully integrate and heal.  Please plan accordingly around big events.  Avoid makeup, intense workouts and distant travel for 2 days.  Avoid dental work, including cleanings for 2 weeks.

CAN I HAVE TREATMENTS DURING PREGNANCY AND BREAST FEEDING?

Unfortunately, we hold off on medical grade skin care as well as injectables during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  However, we can develop a baby safe skincare routine to transition the gap.  Please enjoy a custom herbal facial while you bask in the glow of the pregnancy hormones.
