Neuromodulation Treatment Protocol
PRE & POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
BOTOX, DAXXIFY, DYSPORT
Pre-Treatment Instructions:
- Ensure your skin is clean and free of makeup before treatment.
- Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and alcohol for a few days leading up to your treatment, as they can increase the risk of bruising.
- Discuss any medications or supplements you are currently taking with your provider.
What to Expect:
You may experience some redness, swelling, or mild bruising immediately after treatment.
Occasional tingling or discomfort is normal, especially if this is your first treatment.
If you received a neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify), results will gradually develop over 2-14 days and last 3-4 months.
How to Care for Your skin Post Treatment:
- Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area for 6 hours after treatment.
- Refrain from aspirin, ibuprofen, and alcohol for a few days post-treatment.
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours.
- Apply Arnica Montana cream to areas with redness, bruising, or swelling.
- Limit sun exposure and cold outdoor activities until redness subsides.
- Do not restart Retinol or Retin-A for at least 2 days after treatment.
- Stay upright; do not lie down for at least 4 hours after treatment.
- A headache may occur, especially if this is your first Botox treatment.
- Tingling sensations are normal and usually subside within a few days.
- Makeup can be reapplied after treatment.
- Full effects may take 2-14 days to appear, and results typically last 3-4 months.
Follow Up Care:
- Your provider will follow up with you in 1-2 weeks to assess the treatment results.
- If any concerns arise or additional treatment is needed, please contact the office immediately.
Signs of Infection Include:
- Drainage that looks like pus.
- Increased warmth and extreme itching around the treated area.
- Fever of 101.5 or greater.
